Authentic African black soap is made in the countries of Ghana, Togo, Nigeria and other locations in West Africa. Plaintain skins and cocoa pods are roasted and mixed with water and oils such as palm kernel oil, cocoa butter, and shea butter. The whole mixture is cooked and then laid out to dry. The resulting soap is a soft, brown, crumbly substance that is extremely moisturizing and rich in vitamins A & E. African black soap is most commonly hand-crafted by village women in Africa who make the soap for themselves and to support their families.
We grind chunks of raw African black soap and incorporate it into our own batch of moisturizing shea butter and goat milk soap for an easy-to-use bar that is perfect for daily facial cleansing, as well as hand and body washing. Rhassoul clay (which contains silica, magnesium, potassium, and calcium) is added to remove impurities, deep clean, and gently exfoliate. It has an earthy vanilla scent and leaves your skin super soft, clean and smooth.
